Layla Said Nothing started writing poems at the age of six in Long Island, New York. In 2022, she released two EPs: Portrait of a Young Woman and Poetry is Not A Luxury. In 2025, she published her first collection of poems, DON’T YOU CRY, I’M ON VENUS. She honors her family’s maternal tradition of poetry as a vehicle for protest and honest self-reflection.
Layla has raised over $10 million for nonprofits that address hunger, homelessness, and childhood trauma. Her work in public service has been featured on FOX31, 9News, Denver7, Axios, The Colorado Sun, CBS, Denverite, and Westword.
