Layla Said Nothing is an Afghan Romanian American who started writing poems at the age of six in Long Island, New York. In 2022, she released two EPs: Portrait of a Young Woman and Poetry is Not A Luxury. In 2025, she published her first collection of poems, DON’T YOU CRY, I’M ON VENUS. She honors her family’s maternal tradition of poetry as an act of personal and political service.
Layla has raised over $2.7 million to prevent and end youth homelessness. Her work in public service has been featured on FOX31, 9News, Denver7, Axios, The Colorado Sun, CBS, Denverite, and Westword. She enjoys going to the beach, drinking the sun, and tending to her small garden in Southern California.
